Back in 2022, like every other young guy in Gujarat, I thought going abroad was the only way to succeed. I joined IELTS classes. But let’s be honest—my heart just wasn’t in those books. Instead of studying hard, I spent most of my time playing pool and hanging out. I was just going with the flow.
Somehow, in 2023, I gave the exam and got 6 bands. The door to a foreign country was wide open. I could have packed my bags and left. But something inside me said, “Dev, this isn't what you want.” I wanted to build something here, in my own country. That is when I made my first big life decision. I decided to stay and become an entrepreneur. This mindset is what eventually led me to become the Founder of Xenreach communication - Dev Patel and start our Digital Marketing Company & Agency.
From IELTS Books to Tea Kettles: The Chai Master Story
I didn't start a tech company right away. Along with my friend, I started a business called Chai Master. We didn't hire a big team. We designed our own cart. We went to the market and bought every small spoon, glass, and milk packet ourselves. We built it from zero. Then came the hardest part—standing on the side of the road. Making tea with my own hands and selling it to strangers. It wasn't easy. In our society, people think standing at a tea stall is "low" work. It challenged my ego and my idea of self-respect. But we did it anyway. For 6 months, we lived that life. That tea stall was my first Digital Marketing Company & Agency because I had to learn how to talk to people and sell a product.
